Moody's Maintains France's Aa3 Rating

Moody's has maintained France's sovereign debt rating at Aa3 with a negative outlook, defying expectations of a downgrade. The decision comes despite France's public debt reaching 119.1% of GDP, or €3.6 trillion, amid social tensions and budgetary pressures. Economy Minister Roland Lescure called the decision a warning for those causing disorder. The rating provides a temporary reprieve for the government, which faces challenges in managing public finances.

Impact Lenders to the French government face unchanged borrowing conditions, maintaining current interest rates.
